HEIGHTENED REALITY is what i’m calling my new series of illustration exercises in imagined conceptualization and accurate representation. All drawings depict my real friends surrounded by things that are either original designs or referenced. i will give credit to all things extant.
This is the first set of results, all in graphite and ink.

My fan-made music video paying tribute to the French aviation movie “Les Chevaliers Du Ciel” also known in English as “Sky Fighters”. This is all real flight filmed for the Dassault version of Top Gun. It’s on youtube as well. Music is Journey.

I went to Japan for a little over a week, last April 2012 with Xavier and his family. We hit Osaka, Toba, Nara, Kyoto, and Tokyo. These are some photos that came out of it.
It was the most romantic, loveliest trip ever, and one of the greatest and funnest… And the memories will forever stay with us.

Trudging through the struggle of gaining exposure, I created a Facebook page people can like. It also serves as a window into the broader scope of my growth as an artist. The photo albums are a mixture of old and new work, separated into three categories: Ink, Concept, and Paintings.
Perhaps part of becoming successful is to create an image of success, but I’ve always been known to be outspoken about the difficulties in life I encounter. I’m the first to admit that sometimes I need help deciding not to give up and reminders to carry on. If you have Facebook, LIKE me if you want.

I ultimately finished this video during my Seattle airport layover. It’s made up of footage gathered during the past year, of parts near and of Portland, and of Xavier riding his Buell Firebolt around the city.
I moved back to the Philippines, and this little film is to remind me of the possibilities and significance Portland still holds for me when I decide to come back. Hopefully then, I would have better knowledge and equipment in order to make something more professional and truly remarkable.

This is a video from the beginning of this month (August ‘11).
When Nacho visited (as a jump off point to and from his New Mexico hunt), we spent one day leisurely exploring Sauvie Island, right beside Portland, Oregon.
This is a mini-memento video. Motorcycle is care of Xavier Dominguez, although he lends it to his twin brother Nacho in the video. Xavier’s actually driving me around in his Baja. Shot with a Canon. Music is by Yann Tiersen.
Hopefully, I won’t stop experimenting this way.

Just came back from a three-week trip to Greece. Two weeks were spent taking an Art and Cycladic Culture course with Hellenic International Studies in the Arts. My home base was Paros island and the course entailed lots of walking, hiking, swimming, eating, island hopping, and sailing. In the video are clips that depict Athens, Argolis, Delphi, Corinth, Paros, Antiparos, Naxos, Delos, and Santorini.

Photographs taken at Pototan Cave on Batan Island, off Cagraray Island, in Bicol, Philippines. Through the journey were great flowstone formations, lots of drapery, various hues, and an abundance stalactites. With no lantern and only waterproof flashlights (that I had to hold with my mouth several times), we waded waist and chest-deep through the underground river of brackish water, past several chambers with cold blue pools, whilst the constant sound of rushing waterfalls echoed through the walls.
My family and I lived in Hong Kong for two years. We even witnessed the Handover of Hong Kong to Chinese control from the British. We have been going back every now and then. These photographs were taken during my most recent trip there, back in January.

My family and I lived in Shibuya and then Fukasawa in Japan for almost 3 years. My little sister was born there, but hardly remembered it. We went back last year in order to refresh her memory, and more. Took these photographs then.
